The college search can be overwhelming and tiring. To help reduce the stress, break the process down into small lists of things to do.
Junior Year – September
Do an Academic Review.
Make sure your schedule not only is set to meet your graduation requirements, but also will meet the entrance requirements of the schools you are beginning to consider. Most colleges list the requirements on their website. If you have some schools you’re seriously considering then it’s a good idea to contact the admissions department to see if they have suggestions on classes that would help differentiate you from other students that typically apply to the school.
Sign up for the PSAT
Consider taking a leadership role in a club or sport that interests you. Leadership is an important criteria potential colleges will look for when reviewing your application.
Visit College Fairs in your area and meet with College Representatives that come to your school.
